Nutraceuticals & Food
Capsule/tablet blending-filling lines for nutraceuticals, paired with sanitary stainless piping.
GHP and HACCP: The Foundation of Food-Grade Manufacturing
Good Hygiene Practices (GHP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) form the baseline for any food or nutraceutical production line. GHP covers the general sanitary conditions of a facility — layout, cleaning, pest control, personnel hygiene — while HACCP is a systematic method for identifying where contamination or process failure could occur and putting controls at those specific points.
Sanitary Piping and Equipment Design
Process equipment, tanks, and piping in a food or supplement line need to be built for cleanability: smooth, crevice-free interior surfaces, clearly labelled and lockable openings (manholes, inlets, drains), and materials that tolerate repeated CIP washdown without degrading. Poor piping design is one of the most common root causes of microbial contamination findings in food facility audits.
Thai FDA Requirements
In Thailand, nutraceutical and food supplement products fall under the Thai FDA (a branch of the Ministry of Public Health) via the Food Act B.E. 2522 (1979). Manufacturers must submit a complete description of their production process demonstrating GMP compliance, and many pursue additional certifications such as ISO 9001 or FSSC 22000 to access export markets.
